Last week the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services released its latest information on H-1B visa petitions filed since April 1.
As of Dec. 3 the USCIS had received 51,200 regular petitions out of a total cap number of 65,000. That is approximately 800 more than were received at this time last year.
The Masters cap has received 18,700 petitions, which leaves that category just about seven percent shy of its cap number. That is also up from last year, by about 300 petitions.
Some experts predict that the cap for both categories will be reached by the early part of 2011.
As mentioned, the USCIC began accepting applications in the spring. It will continue to do so until the caps are reached. All sections of Form-129 need to be completed in order for an applicant to have the best possible chance for approval. Experienced counsel with knowledge of the process is recommended.
